A quick trip to visit my Galway guy

Whilst studying abroad in the UK it was imperative for me to visit my boyfriend who was studying in Galway, Ireland at the time. The first half of the visit was spent in Galway and the second half of the visit was spent in Dublin. The first few days in Galway were spent touring the city, visiting the University of Galway Campus, and visiting local pubs. I couldn't help but listen to Ed Sheeran's "Galway Girl" on repeat.

We took a bus from Galway to Dublin and spent the first evening checking some things off our bucket list and exploring. We of course visited The Temple Bar pictured above. It was very crowded but fun to check off the list. We walked across the Ha'penny Bridge (both before and after the sun had set). We stumbled across some thrift shops where we spent some time browsing - I even found a Steph Curry basketball jersey. My favorite restaurant was called the Church. I was looking for places to eat and stumbled upon this 17th century church that had been converted into a restaurant serving traditional Irish cuisine. It was divine!

When I visited Scotland I had a Scotch egg so I couldn't leave Ireland without having Irish stew! It did not disappoint. On our last full day in Dublin we visited the Library of Trinity College Dublin and the Jameson Whiskey Factory.

Not only was the library breathtaking, it also held the Book of Kells. As an aspiring author standing, standing in that room filled me with so much inspiration. We took a walk around the campus grounds as well.

At the Jameson Factory we learned about the history of Jameson Whiskey as well as the process for how their whiskey is made. We were given samples of different whiskeys and at the end of the tour we could choose to have a whiskey and ginger ale or a whiskey neat. I opted for the whiskey and ginger ale which was a refreshing a sweet end to the trip.
The four days of the trip were gone in a flash but I had a blast! I would love to visit Ireland again one day.
