From afternoon tea to a flat white on the go, Norwich's cafe culture was one of my favorite things about the City.

As a college student I have grown to be obsessed with coffee and cozy cafes to stop in for a treat when out and about. Norwich was full of cafes to stop in for a latte, tea, or snack and while I was unable to visit all of them, I most certainly will when I go back. Here are a few of my favorites and why they are so special.

Biddy's Tea Room

Biddy's Tea Room was one of the cutest places I visited in Norwich. I stopped in for a treat and cup of tea one day and returned for a full afternoon tea when my sister came to visit me. The ambiance of this cafe is cozy and warm, it felt like it could have come straight from a Harry Potter novel. decorated with plants, patterned wall paper, mismatched chairs and tables, and Union Jack pillows lended itself to the welcoming, vintage vibe. They had quite a large menu of teas and coffees to choose from ranging from the classic earl grey to their own specialty combinations. The scones, cakes, and sandwiches are all such a delight and the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon.

Stranger's Cafe

Strangers is the perfect place to grab a latte on the go. With three locations you can easily stumble upon at least one during a day out in the city. One of there locations is even a roastery where you can purchase the beans yourself. Some locations have seating areas and some are small grab and go locations. The coffee itself is delicious and fresh tasting, often the morning boost I need.

Bread Source

Bread Source is a hidden gem that I am so grateful to have stumbled upon during my time in Norwich. This cafe was featured in the guidebook that I picked up during my first week and I had been waiting to visit until finally my mom, aunt, and cousin came for a visit and we decided to venture to Bread Source together especially seeing that my mom has an affinity for bread baking. The highlight of this cafe for me is that they have bottomless toast! You can actually order bottomless toast and sit there enjoying fresh baked bread toasted to your liking and topped with butter, honey, jam, and more alongside a hot, creamy mocha latte. You can also take a loaf of bread or other sweet baked goods home for later or you can stop by the Bread Source stall at the Norwich Market!

Eaton Park Cafe

Eaton Park Cafe is the perfect location to grab a coffee and sausage roll if you are in the mood to explore. The enormous Eaton Park is located in between UEA's campus and Norwich's city centre. This popular spot is where I found the best mocha latte and homemade sausage rolls. You can sit inside to enjoy your food or take it to go and have a picnic in the park! I also found the cutest Norfolk cookbook here that I had to bring home as a souvenir for my step dad.

Kofra Cafe in the Sainsbury Center

Kofra cafe located inside the Sainsbury Centre on UEA's campus was one of my favorite places to go for an afternoon pick me up. First of all I must add that the Sainsbury Centre itself was featured in the major motion picture "Avengers Endgame" as the Avengers HQ which I thought was super cool! Inside is an art gallery with annual exhibits (free admission for students), a gift shop, classrooms, and the aforementioned Kofra cafe. I fell in love with the simplicity of the fresh mint tea pictured above. Living in the UK for a few months, I grew accustomed to adding milk and sugar to my English Breakfast and Earl Grey tea but I love that I didn't need to add anything to the mint tea for a soothing and refreshing beverage. Whether I came to study at the cafe or walk around the gallery, the mint tea was my go-to.
